Armadillo


Armadillos are mammals. There are 20 different species of Armadillo in the family. Usually they are around moist soils, dry creeks, rivers, and streams. Armadillos have very sharp claws and with the claws they dig for food. They are diggers. Armadillos live under ground. There are very small armadillos that only grow 4 to 5 inches in length. There are giant armadillos that grow up to 5 feet and weight in 130 pounds. The word armadillo itself came form Spanish, the translation would be: little armored one.
